Angela Stent on the US-Russia Relations and American Sanctions

Successive US presidents have failed to forge better relations with Russia. Today, Europe sits between two nuclear superpowers who just cannot get along.

Angela Stent, Director of the Center for Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies, Georgetown University, speaks on predictability seeking in relations between Washington and Moscow, American sanctions policy and the basic reasons to impose economic restrictions against Russia.

“Russia does have a sphere of interest in its neighborhood, the US governments have not been willing to accept that”, the expert said in an interview with the Valdai Discussion Club.
